Paul has been added to the line up for the Polaris Convention this coming weekend in Toronto at the Sherton Parkway Hotel (Toronto North). The convention runs July 15th-17th though due to work commitments, Paul is scheduled to appear on the Saturday and Sunday only (16th & 17th).

It was a clean sweep for ‘A Fine Young Man’ and Paul at the Leos. The short film won every award it was nominated for. Best Short Drama, Best Directing & Screenwriting (Short Drama) for Kevin Funk and of course, Best Performance by Male in Short Drama for Paul.
The sucess follows on from multiple film festival awards in Canada, the US & Japan where it’s been screened. As well as rave reviews at the reknowned Toronto International Film Festival.

Paul’s new comedy presentation pilot ‘Captain Starship’ is starting to hit the press. You can find several interviews with Producer Ivon Bartok (Stargate SG1, Universe, Atlantis) talking about what went into making the pilot and some of the fun from the set at Scifi & TV Talk and Cobblestone Creative

‘Magic Beyond Words’ based on the life of Harry Potter author JK Rowling now has an air date and will have it’s premiere July 18th on Lifetime. The film follows the events of the author’s life leading up to her writing the novels, Paul plays her father ‘Pete Rowling’. You can also see him in the season finale of ‘Endgame’, the Canadian Shotime series about a crime solving chess master which will air in June.

The Leo Award nominations for 2011 are out. ‘A Fine Young Man’ is up for 4, including a ‘Best Performance by a Male in a Short Drama’ nomination for Paul.
The film is also up for ‘Best Short Drama’, ‘Best Direction in a Short Drama’ and ‘Best Screen Writing in a Short Drama’. The award ceremony is set to be held on June 8th (Celebration Awards) and June 11th (Gala Award Ceremony) in Vancouver, Canada.
+ Read more…Paul recently finished filming on the un-authorised JK Rowling – of Harry Potty fame – biopic for Lifetime TV. ‘Magic Beyond Words’ (previously ‘Strange Magic’) dispicts the authors childhood up to the events that inspired her to write her world famous bestselling novels. It was shot in Victoria, BC which doubled for locations like Leicester Square, London and many others.

UPDATED: After it’s success at the Toronto International Film Festival, ‘A Fine Young Man’ is heading to Toyko. The film has been officially selected for The Short Shorts Film Festival, screening in the International Shorts Competition in June 2011.

It’s been a busy January for Paul, who’s been filming a number of lead & guest roles in Vancouver over the last few weeks.
He appear in the JJ Abram’s produced ‘Alcatraz‘, the new series from the creators of ‘Lost‘ and is currently filming a recurring role on another new series, ‘Endgame‘. Paul has also been cast to star in the biopic of (more…)
